Texas First Bank's Reviews
Tyler Garrett and Dickey Campbell are the reason I write this, I have never experienced this type of fraud and terrible treatment by a bank or a banker. I avoid everything to leave bad reviews but I don't want this to happen to anyone else. DO NOT get a construction loan with them. We got a construction loan and the bank paid out the contractor after sending their inspector out to view the property, they paid out for Electrical, Plumbing and AC's that were ALL done out of code and without permits. Over 20k in work that had to be torn out and replaced. The bank allowed the contractor to continue to be paid out. They allowed money to be stolen and used for out of code work then refused to take any responsibility. We spent thousands fixing this work out of pocket, at the end of the day we had to pay and the bank didn't care. They allowed the contractor to extort us for more money to get a lien release signed. Tyler Garrett actually facilitated it. We called Dickey Campbell his boss to try to reason with him, he didn't care. I believe in doing right by people.
I have always told anyone who asks how much I love my local "hometown bank" but after today I am sad to say that I can no longer say that!!!! Wednesday evening about 6:57pm I deposited cash into the Dickinson ( Bay Colony) "smart" ATM. The signage on said ATM stated Funds deposited after 6pm will be available on the next business day. I thought to myself that's great because that's when I needed the funds to be available for a Christmas surprise purchase (Thrusday, the next business day, Right?) What they failed to mention is that to them the next business day means Friday at midnight. Uh, I am no banker , just a hard working Nurse, but to me next business day after Wednesday is Thursday. After sending a message thru the Texas First Bank app, I was told someone would contact me regarding this deposit. I never received a call back so I called the bank myself. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes and then I was told my funds will not the available until midnight Friday morning!!! How is that the next business day? Then the Lady who did not give me her name, proceeded to tell me , " Ma'am, since these funds where deposited after 6pm it is like you deposited them today." So naturally I replied with "if it is like I deposited the funds today, Thursday obviously before 6pm (which is the cut off time for deposit according to the signage on the ATM) when why are the funds not available today? To which the non helpful Lady replied because you deposited funds after 6pm. To which I tried to reply yes 6pm yesterday, not today! I was rudely interrupted and told you deposited funds after 6pm so those funds will not be available until after midnight (meaning Friday morning)! I am beyond upset. I feel betrayed and like I can no longer trust them with my money. The signage needs to changed to reflect that funds deposited after 6pm will not be available until after midnight on the second business day following the deposit. Please for the love of God can someone explain to me how after making a deposit on Wednesday evening that the next business day would be Friday after midnight!!! Thanks for ruining what would have been a great Christmas surprise for my family. I needed these funds to be available today Thursday!!! What makes matters worse is that no one tried to help or make the situation any better. I just given nothing but snide comments like "why if you needed money did you deposit it in the ATM in the first place" well rudeness, if you must know it was because I needed to use my debit card for the purchase!!! I am so very dissatisfied!!! Looks like I have some "shopping" around to do for a new bank! You can't treat customers like this and expect them to stay customers!!! Worst banking experience ever and it was with a bank I once loved, trusted and was proud to be part of!!!! Not anymore!!! So THANK YOU ( said in the most sarcastic way possible) for insulting my intelligence and ruining a Christmas morning surprise!!
I called before I came in, I talked to a man named Chase and he helped me straight away. I was on my break for 30 minutes and was out of there in 10. I appreciate everything you did, thank you so much !
