I haven’t been in the ace cashing system for a while. I finally go in to cash a check yesterday because my bank was closed. In order for me to cash a check they needed me to fill out a profile, as well as three references. I completed my profile and I refuse to complete the references, because I did not understand why they need three references for me to cash a check. That was mind-boggling to me. I asked why they needed three references to cash my check that they had already verified, and the only thing that the manager said was it’s because of Trump. I feel as though that was a lie. And I feel like they only needed my references to solicit information. After refusing to give my references, I finally gave in and list the three references. They then proceeded to call my work phone. Once they couldn’t get a hold of any of my references, they refused to cash my check. However they had already verified my check. To this day I do not understand what they need references for to cash a check. This was the worst check cashing experience ever. The manager and her staff were extremely rude. Never ever going back to ace. EVER
