The girls are nice and friendly. They do what they can to help the customers. I've personally heard people complain about certain fees but it's not the employees fault. They are just doing their job.
I went in to cash a money order made out to me. The signs posted on the wall said their fee would be 5% for a cashier's check and was the maximum allowed for all other type of checks cashed. After I cashed the money order, the manager, Nikki, took out 8% instead of 5% and handed me the difference. I told her this was too much as the sign said 5% was the amount for cashier's checks and was the most for any type of checks cashed. She came over and looked at the sign and said it does not say specifically money orders so they can charge whatever they want to. I told her this was a bait-and-switch and wanted my money order back and I would give her back the money. She said the company policy was that once they had completed the transaction, they could not reverse it. I told her I was going to complain to the corporate office. As I was leaving and walked outside, another employee came out the door and said they forgot to have me sign the back of the money order and asked me to do this. I refused as they had just ripped me off. Nikki came out and asked me to come back inside. I walked back in and she told me I had to sign the money order. Again I refused. She called her manager and her manager told her to give me my money order back if I would return the money she had just shorted me. I did this and walked out with my money order. Nikki just reversed the transaction after telling me she could not do this. I took the money order to Wells Fargo and they cashed it for free with no hassle. I would advise everyone against cashing your checks at Check Into Cash as I am sure they are breaking the law by posting one fee and then charging a higher fee. A rip-off operation for sure!!
Warning! Do not use this company! They will rip you off on their fees on payday loans! Have done many other payday loans and their fees will not be less for early payoff! Beware if you get a loan on a Saturday and you get 3 days to pay back with no fees, they count Sunday as a day even though they are closed... other companies do not! Got a loan and the payback was a week later with full fees! Not a true payday loan! Do your research on them before you get a loan from them!!!
This is not an indictment on the company, I've actually done a lot of business with the location in Arlington. They're great, however that beings us to this location. I moved and can no longer pay my loan at the old location, therefore I have tried to go to the Carrolton office now 3 times. Twice mid day and once in the afternoon. The first time I tried midday, the sign said they were open but no body was in the office. I returned the next day around lunch and once again, same issue, however the employee showed up just as I as leaving...only for her to tell me she couldn't help me and she had to "make a run". I then returned the next day at 5:30(they close at 6), the sign said "will return at 5:00"...weird because it was 5:30. I've tried calling the location multiple times and only get a busy signal. They need to rethink the employees that are hired for this location. I have spoken to corporate and also the other store location only to find out that this location is known for these types of issues. It's sad that people don't take pride in whatever they do. It's not good business and will cost not only this location, but the company overall in the long run.
