Almost always a great experience. However, today I experienced an incredibly awkward, unnecessary situation. When I reached the checkout area it was packed, several people were already I line to check out at the regular checkout stations with 4 available lanes. I look and see that the self-checkout is completely empty, I also read the sign that is only on the first self-checkout that reads 25 items or less. The other 3 stations do not have a sign on them so I proceed towards one to checkout. As I’m scanning my ID, a store employee approaches me and ask if I have more than 25 items. I replied that I did not count them, but it’s possible. Most of my items were in insulated bags to keep them cold, so she certainly cannot see 25 items. Anyways, she tells me I will have to go to a normal checkout lane. Mind you, the self-checkout area is completely devoid of life expect for me and the 25 item or less lady. Without argument I proceed to the regular checkout lanes where I stood in line for no less than 10 mins. All the while, not a single, solitary person used the completely empty self-checkout area.
Although I love the commissary I despise the fact that through the rebuild they have REFUSED to listen to not only the customers but their staff about stocking items. It seems they are going away from supplying for the family needs to supplying for a select crowd. With that said, the staff at this commissary especially the baggers, cashiers, stock-crew are an amazing group and making shopping here a pleasure. They are ALWAYS willing to help.
When we first moved back in July they were still recovering from Hurricane Michael. Had to go down every isle slowly as everything was shelved where space was available. Now the isles are all in place and seems everything in its place. The employees are all very friendly and courteous.
