Started coming here last season and it is really great. The kids programs are first rate and they offer Burton Ski school. Would be great though if they kept their twitter feed updated -- they seem to be slacking this year. It is a good way to quickly find out how many trails/lifts are open.
The resort is very clean and accessible. Staff was very kind and helpful. We came early in the season so less runs where open but we had a great time.
My kids, husband and myself LOVE this resort. My kids range in age from 10 to 15 and they love snowboarding on Beech. Great family atmosphere, and with major investments to the resort with renovations, new lifts, and substantial snowmaking projects, my family is looking forward to enjoying this place for years to come.
I went downhill mountain biking with my son today, who’s really into that. I ride a little, but this is the first time I rode downhill. Beach Mountain Ski Resort was a great place to start. They have several different courses with various degrees of difficulty. The course is very well maintained. The staff was helpful, friendly and courteous. The view from the top is as good as it gets in the NC mountains. The only area for improvement I experienced was the restaurant. It took about 40 minutes to get our food once we ordered. It was 2pm, so they were not busy. Other people around us were also complaining about the wait time. They took 10 percent off the bill, but this didn’t make up for lost time on the course. The hamburgers were burnt and not good at all, but we didn’t want to pile on the complaints. I’ll bring a sandwich and eat in the parking lot next time. Otherwise, wonderful experience!
I worked here like 16 years ago. I loved skiing here I was on the slopes daily. It's a great place ski and snowboard it really has a ski resort feel to it. My only real complaint is something that can't be helped and that is it can get very windy and that causes a few issues especially when they are blowing snow. Mainly the wind will blow away the fresh made snow leaving patches of ice. Also management didn't seem to care about the actual skiing conditions BUT it's been years since I've skied there so I can't say anything about conditions now. As far as the trails I thoroughly enjoy them nice wide trails amazing views. Something about skiing this mountain I find to be peaceful and relaxing.
