I have a lot of things to say about Equitable Finance. Please excuse my essay. I needed an outlet. I went delinquent by a month a few years ago. I used my one "get out of jail free" card that the company provides. During this time, I would also like to include that I attempted to call the office to work out a plan. After reading a lot of these reviews, I'll include that I was speaking with the ever famous, Grace. I was called a "disgrace to the company" because they "trusted that I would pay them when they provided me with this loan". After reaching out to corporate, I did get a personal apology for this. (Usually in a negative review, I would roll my eyes after reading a statement like that. This is not an exaggeration.) This fall, my husband lost his job. I called them before the loan was due, and they told me that my only option was to pay half of my usual payment. It was even suggested by an employee that I donate plasma to make the money. Due to the fact that I needed to use all of my income for rent and food, this was not an option. The company began calling me twice a day. I didn't feel like being harassed, so I didn't answer. The company then reached out to my references, including my mother. They came to my home and left a notice with my husband. I provided the company with a seize and desist, informing them to stop harassing me and to take whatever next step they needed to take. I assumed they would begin garnishing my wages. I knew there was nothing I could do about this, so I didn't freak out when I saw that $266 was taken from my paycheck. The shock came today, 4 days before Christmas. My bank called to inform me that Equitable Finance of Murray had seized all of the money in my account. $655. I have been left with $0 a week before Christmas. When I called, they were quick to inform me that they are legally allowed to do this. An employee explained that this situation was my fault, because I did not accept any of their harassing phone calls. While I completely admit that I should have asked for help, I never thought things could escalate so much in just a couple months. She said that maybe they could've offered me some kind of way to keep my account in good standing if I had answered one of these calls. I feel lied to, since there was apparently no other option back when I called before my due date. I have never felt so robbed. This loan was absolutely my responsibility; I know that. I just expected to be treated like a human who actually does mean well. Unexpected events happen in life. Throughout the length of my loan, I felt worthless and stupid. I never received an ounce of empathy or an effort to help. If you need a loan, go for it. Go through them. I just felt the need to tell my experience. I am a real person from the community. I have a good job and good credit. Going delinquent is not a huge habit for me. I sincerely hope that no one treats these employees like they treat their customers and I hope that none of them have to experience the loss that I'm sure many of their customers have had to go through from their doing.

The lady I spoke with on the phone was very rude and irritable. When I asked if they had Battletoads, not only did I have to explain to them what Battletoads is (imagine not knowing what Battletoads is), they told me I owed them money. I don't owe anyone a dime! This was a horrible experience and I do not recommend calling them for anything.

Not only do they make it impossible for you to make a car payment, they force you to get a warranty that refuses to pay for anything. We are paying 3x what this pos is worth and it keeps breaking down and the warranty company finds every excuse to not pay for ANY repairs.

Completely unethical company. Paid them in full and two hours later my account suddenly showed a balance. Their Explanation: Those are late fees. Late fees that suddenly show up after the account is paid in full? Never mind that whenever I paid it said clearly stated that my payment was addressing the entire amount due which WOULD include any late fees. This is just disgusting fraudulent billing and should be treated as a crime. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!
