I had the most awful experience here today. Never have I been treated like a criminal for no reason. I was told over the phone yesterday that they would be able to cash an e-check as long as it could be verified. When I went in today and they didn't recognize the type of check, I politely explained that the instructions to verify it were provided. The manager on duty treated me with complete disrespect and said, "we're going to do what I say because I'm the boss" and refused to attempt to verify the check after making me fill out all of my information. They said they wouldn't cash it because it doesn't meet their standards. When I asked what was wrong with it and tried to understand their "standards" she just cut me off saying they don't have to divulge anymore information. Avoid this place if you appreciate being treated with human decency.

Overall, for the most part, the service I've gotten here was great. The people I've talked to are very helpful and they make loaning money a pleasant experience. I however had one bad experience here that was hard to shake. I forgot a check on Friday so I extended my loan another two weeks and came back Saturday to make a $100 payment on my principal. While I was there I asked the clerk to tell me how much interest had accrued as of that day and I made a payment so I'd have less to pay next pay Friday. When I cam back next pay Friday I was shocked to learn the three extra dollars I paid for my interest had vanished into thin air and I had to pay full price for an extension again. Very disappointed in this but three dollars is cheap to pay for a lesson learned. Also, loans here cannot be extended more then ten weeks and after that the entire balance must be paid off or they will cash your check. They are really easy to get a loan from compared to other places but Check City, after ten weeks, will simply just stop charging you interest on your loan and you will have more time to pay it off. If you have the necessary paperwork to go to Check City I would suggest getting your loan from them.

The employees here are nice, and their interest rates are lower than Check City. The only complaint I have is that some of the employees seem to have been trained with different procedures than others. I can pull my bank account and paystubs up on my phone and show evidence of my direct deposit, but they always want a printout of the bank statement (which is fine; I can get this from my bank easily). However, depending on the employee, some of them also require printouts of paystubs and some don't. It's nearly impossible for me to get these, so I just wait for someone else to be working when I am told this is required. Also, most employees will print out a check for you, but some of them require you to get a check from the bank. Last time this happened to me, the employee made me go to my bank and pay for a counter check; I then went back and a different employee said, "We can't use a counter check so I'll just print one off." Would be comical if I wasn't paying for checks I didn't need. Whether I use CheckSmart or Check City depends on whether I want to pay less (CheckSmart) or be in and out the door in two minutes without having to provide a ton of redundant documentation (Check City).
