Went to go make a deposit for an act that wasn't mine and I did mention that TWICE. The teller was giving me a hard time because I didn't have the debit card as if it was so hard to look up the customer/ client by name or address. The last time I did this JJ the manager wasn't even close to the service I got. He found the account easily and shouldn't have been a problem the second time. Teller had no reason to give me a hard time like that.
Tried to cash a check written to me from a TCF customer and because I wasn't in their system they charge 3%. That would have been $65 to cash a check FROM A TCF CUSTOMER. I used to bank with them years ago......one of the reasons I stopped. Find somewhere else to bank.
terrible customer service. stay away from this place! they love putting checks on hard holds and charge you insufficient fund fees because of their hold. they refuse to verify funds even when given the other bank's manager's direct phone number. they tell you to bring in proof that funds have cleared the other bank, then when you do they give you another story on why they can't release funds. as soon as i get my funds i am going to switch to a reliable bank. this bank don't even run credit checks before they take you on. i only used them because they were open sunday. not anymore. just a horrible experience dealing with them. the manager who is hardily ever there james urquhart never returns phone calls. his staff is rude as well. i have already filed complaints with the bbb and contacted a lawyer as my check has still not been released after 5 business days. chase has proof they have received the funds. they fail to notify you that they are hard holding your check. which is not in accordance to the expedited funds availability act. no wonder there is complaints all over the place about this bank. just shameful on their part. any bank that would not notify you on hard holding your funds is a bank that could care less about you as a customer. that is a fact! stay away from this institution and do yourself a great favor in that.
Screw them check deposit done sat and telling me it wint clear until tomorrow or the next day and wont release it even tho . And the kicker im in Georgia from il for work and havent been able to pay for my hotel or anything due to them not clearing it . Thanks tcf hope u go out of buisness and when i get back to il i will be sure to come in the branch and let you know exactly how i feel while.i close my account
Attempted to exchange 2-20 dollar bills and 1-10 dollar bill (50 dollars) for 50 - 1 dollar bills and was told by a rude customer service representative that she could not help me because I wasn't a member. Money for money ? Not cashing a cgech, just attempting to exchange money for money. This iccuoccu at 09:30, Sunday, August 12, 2018. Even if I was considering starting an account with TCF, I WILL NEVER DO SO ! Poor policy, poor customer service. Amazed that with the potential of gaining a customer that I was treated as such. TCF is a poor excuse of a financial institution.
