While I understand liability and financial procedures, having to go into the office in this day and age is nothing but a hassle. On top of that, the amount of documentation that was required to verify my income was ridiculous. They asked for everything, bank statement, tax return, paystubs, etc. On top of that, having to verify my employment pushed things back an extra week which costed me an additional $300 in direct interest payments to the current creditors at the time which I hadn’t been able to budget for. Furthermore, as if this wasn’t painful enough, a large portion of the money given to me was given in the form of direct checks to the creditors I owed. Honestly fine in the sense of the money was going to them anyway, but having to mail the checks myself was a hassle as I mail nothing anymore. To add insult to injury on that, the amount they made the checks out for HAD to match the amount on my credit report which was no longer the amount owed, so there was a differential there and I’m still having to make a part of the payment online which renders the entirety of the checks pointless on my end. Other than the fact that I got approved and going through One Main for a consolidation loan is netting me an extra $200 a month for breathing room and lowering my gross amount owed due to lower interest rates, it was a total time drain.
The people does not explain well. Per say if you borrow 1000 dollars they will charge from 25 percent and up monthly. And if you want to pay off 1000 right away onemain still charges the interest which does not make sense at all. I hope my review helps some people before they go to onemain to borrow... basically legal way to scam you.
