Love this place! Beautiful! Neat trees on The trail. The castle (old house) is so neat...rich in history and fun to visit. Beautiful beach access, a place we call alligator alley...you can see wildlife and yes alligators! There's a playground, camp ground, store, bathrooms, pier. It's a fun place to camp or just visit.
This review is based on a family with two younger kids camping. Majority of the campsites have ample room, only sites in the woods are back row. All the staff we met were extremely nice and helpful. Large playground, well kept facilities, beach access was ample and not too far of a walk for anywhere in the campground. A true hidden gem and only 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach if you want to go there for family activities.
Great beach areas. Plenty of sand. Sometimes can see little sea turtles when they hatch. Nice picnic areas. Drove through the campgrounds and they looked really nice. Also they had wash off stations and public restrooms at each beach location. The marsh is huge and full of different types of wildlife. Worth seeing.
Great environment. Nearby beach with the Huntington Castle. The park has viewing points for birds and alligators. Blue herons are really beautiful. You will see a lot of birds out there. It’s a very nice place to hangout and spend the time with the family. Great atmosphere.
One of the best parks in SC. The camp site layout is well done and has something for everyone. They have open sites that are good for groups and kids, and secluded sites that are more private. The sites are gravel and are pretty level. They appear to be well maintained sites and the whole park is very nice. We came during a warm weekend in November and there were a lot of open spaces. Going out in the morning for the sunrise and the beach was empty. Everyone who works here was very helpful and wonderful to talk with. They were very knowledgeable and could answer any of our questions. One of the best features is that they have 3 dump stations. It was so nice to not have a line at checkout time. This is a favorite of ours.
