Been banking here since 1990. Now after 30 years we pay $30 a month service fee on our meger Social Security. It's not a lot but on a fixed income $96 a year is a lot to us.

I was a customer there for 10 years. It changed ownership/ investors/ whatever. Started charging an $8.00 service fee for the free checkimg accounts unless you met one of their exemptions. I didn't meet one (some are ridiculous) so it was time to go. Offer customers pretty much nothing except a place to put your money.

I opened a checking (debit) account in Summer 2017. When signing up, I specifically asked assistant VP Jonetta if there will be a service fee. The answer was "if you transfer your pay check, no, there won't be a fee". Then in winter 2018 they started charging a fee if I have less than $800 sitting in the account. It's a checking account - I use it for paying bills. Who on earth would have $800 sitting in their checking account? It's not my savings account or my credit card! When I called and spoke to customer service, they knew nothing about this fee. Then later I spoke to Jonetta and she explained that this fee became affective in September, and all clients got a letter by mail. Then why are customer service reps not familiar with it? You know what she replied? "well, don't you have an account from where you can transfer $800 so that it remains in your account?" No, Jonetta, I don't . Last time I checked my last name wasn't Rockefeller. Nor am I a VP of a bank. What bothers me is not an $8 fee, which is a total BS, but that I can't trust them anymore. I signed the agreement that says nothing about $800. I hope you understand that it's impossible for me to be a happy customer when my bank alters the signed agreement behind my back. I'm looking for a new bank.
