First off don't ever use them for any loans. I had a student loan with them under the name peaks private student loans. I paid my loan off and they still charged me interest after the loan was paid off. I called them to only have someone telling me my account was closed even know when I log in I had a balance and the collections department was calling me. I decided to call a different number to only be put on hold for over an hour and half. Then they hung up on.
The WORST loan company out there. Terrible rates and even worse customer service. Do NOT get a loan from these scam artists
Asked them to write a letter showing they have no record of an account to clear up a clerical error after they told me they have NO record of an account and they refuse. Basically want a letter to verify what they are telling me over the phone and they tell me to email the same group I have emailed who tell me to call! Getting nothing but the run around.
An extremely unscrupulous company - DO NOT USE FIRST ASSOCIATES AS YOUR EDUCATIONAL LOAN CARRIER OR SERVICER. I was paying down an educational loan with a company I selected and, after 7 years, they sold my loan to First Associates. I contacted First Associates immediately, and they said "we do not have your loan, but we will let you know ASAP if we acquire it". I called First Associates multiple times, and even went as far as having my credit score pulled to see if this was the correct company. Then, the DAY BEFORE the payment was due, I get an abrupt e-mail that the payment is due and there will be a finance charge that day if not paid. I was not even in their system. This is immoral. Stay away from First Associates.
