We chose to use American Home Shield for our first home. They were easy to work with and begin our contract. We have only submitted one claim, but the process was simple! They assigned a great company to evaluate our garage door, and after the technician’s talk with the claims department they covered all the necessary fixes. Our experience was so successful because we checked the details of our contract. Great company, and great customer service.
If your satisfied to go without hot water or a furnace for two weeks, this is the company for you.
They are a terrible warranty service!!! Their employees are foreign. It’s really hard to explain what you need when they don’t understand our language very well. Three different reps hung up on me while trying to set up my claim. Each time I called back they had no record of a precious conversation. They showed no notes or claim even started. No accountability and all three reps didn’t seem to really like their job. I assume it’s a difficult company to work for. Maybe they are having phone problems, but still, it’s a huge challenge just to get a claim scheduled! I will probably close my account and just pay out of pocket for this repair.
This company has been outsourced and is displaying "Scam-like" behavior. WORST customer service EVER!!!!! Submitted an AC repair request on 8/15. As of 8/24 the repair has not been completed nor have I been given any status updates. I have been given the run around on a level different from anything I have EVER seen. I haven't received a single form of communication from the AHS with updates on the repair in the 10 days since filing this complaint. I have called no less than 7 times. Each time, I have received a different employee and a different answer as to the repair status. When I ask for a supervisor, I am put on hold for up to 40 minutes either to have the call "mysteriously disconnect" or to be told there is no supervisor available. For three days, each time I called, I was told there is no supervisor available. I've been told to call back in 30 minutes 3 different times...only to do so and be put on hold for more than 30 minutes at a time ending with yet another promise to return my call or promise to have another department contact me. The temperature has been in the 100s and we have a toddler in the home. It is 92 inside the home, even with fans and windows open. I have even requested a cash-out in order to hire a local company to complete the work. It was denied. Finally, for the last two days 8/22 & 8/23, I have requested the contract be canceled but each time, I get a promise to escalate and expedite this repair. I have not been able to resolve this request on my own and am begging for your help. The company will not allow me to speak to a supervisor. Even after two request to cancel, the company has yet to do so. I requested a refund, they have yet to process that either and have failed to help me in any way. The temperatures will again be in the 100s this coming week, and it is very uncomfortable for our family but especially my toddler. I believe AHS is trying to force me to pay for this $3600 repair myself and then when I submit the reimbursement claim, they will deny it. Switching to this company was a bad idea.
Worst experience I ever had with a company who is charging me twice on my account. They do not have any type of real time communication and would rather communicate via fax...?? Are we no living in 2019 I mean who has a fax machine? Incredibly annoyed to have waited two hours on the phone with someone who I could not understand and did not understand me. I have been charged over $200.00 in the last two months and this company is totally fine allowing me to figure out why it is happening. They do not even have an option to stop automatic payments, which I am sure is the main reason I am in the situation. Do not trust this company there are cheaper and better options out there.
