If there is no star, it will be what I would given to this. Do not transfer money from other accounts you have into this account! I made the deposit on a Tuesday and it showed taken out of my other account on Thursday which means UMass Five College Credit Union has the money, yet they manually hold till the following Tuesday. When I asked, their response was to make sure the funds is available!!!!!!! Really? It sounded like Five College is using my money for free for three days before they release them to me.
Super ableist, elitist and seemed to be more concerned about consumerism rather than anything else. Treats people differently if they are physically disabled rather than ablebodied. Recommended to me by many and honestly everyone who recommended them was disappointed to find out that having a physical disability seems to influence how this place will do business with you and how their staff will talk to you. I don’t recommend if you have visible diversity but am hoping that one day they’ll get it together and be as good as folks thought it was as I love the idea of a community based credit union. This just isn’t a good place as of right now. Will update this review if they change in the future.
don't ever get a student loan with them. not only are they incredibly difficult to work with, their interest rate is 7.5%, and they have zero helpful options when it comes to repayment. Their website is old, and they still rely on postal mail to get documentation needed. This bank is archaic and so not worth the trouble.
I’m a customer of another credit union, I was told I can’t loan payments at 5 college so I went and gave it a shot. I came in the branch and the place looked amazing, the most beautiful bank branch I’ve ever seen in my life, went to the teller station and he walked me over to the ATM to do my loan payment. I thought this was a little strange but ended up being the greatest banking experience of my life. He tapped the screen and a virtual teller (ended up being a real person) popped up on the screen and she was fantastic, she helped me through the whole process and was the nicest person ever, The ATM was like it came from the feature, you could scan your ID, deposit checks, it even gives you physical coin change back. You literally FaceTime with the teller. All in all a fantastic experience
