First Financial Bank's Reviews
I do not recommend banking here! The only reason I decided to bank here is because I moved to Terre Haute and they did not have a PNC here. They seem to have a fee for everything! They have an annual fee, a fee for cashing checks, a fee for writing a check, etc. (PNC does not have any of these). I took out a 3 year loan. Ive never missed a payment, never been late and have ALWAYS made a full payment. This month I have moved back to Indy and was not able to make a full payment. I called the bank to let them know. The lady i spoke to said it wouldn't be an issue as long as I paid the remaining $30 a.s.a.p. Fast forward to the following week, i get a call from Ashley stating I need to pay immediately or my account would be turned into collections and my vehicle taken. I explained to her that I already spoke to someone and her response was the ladies don't always leave notes on accounts. Then when I pulled my loan out, I was told that i would be able to transfer my loan at anytime to another bank. Wrong! I moved back to Indy and wanted to transfer to another bank. I have to pull out another loan, with a different bank, pay off my loan at First Financial and then I'm sure deal with the fees from paying my loan off early. Last month, I noticed I had way less money than I should have had ( im a penny pincher). I call to find out the deal. The lady tells me their system was messing up and double charging people. Bad time for me because at this point I didnt have an income yet, since I had just moved. That finally gets resolved a week later. Now I'm noticing strange charges that pop up on my account. It shows the money is pending, I'm not sure what the charges are from because I haven't used my card in weeks at this point. I wait for it to go thru. I check a couple days later and the charge is gone. It's not recorded any where on my account, and the money is now back in my account. As soon as my loan is paid off, I will be moving my business to another bank.
I absolutely despise how this bank does business, and by no means is it a way to keep customers or have a positive word-of-mouth review. I currently have an auto loan through this bank and have seldom had any issues. It was a 4 year loan for 12,500 which is nearly paid off, only 7 months left. In the first year of the loan, I fell into a medical emergency and was 3 months behind on my payments and the bank worked with me diligently. As of today, I am 12 days late on my payment and I have talked with the bank and assured them I will pay it next week. Regardless of my assurance, she DEMANDS immediate payment over the phone or they threaten to take my vehicle. I have always made my payments, paid every late fee, and never had an issue until recently. It seems that because my car is nearly paid off, the bank is finding every excuse to repossess it in order to sell it for a higher profit. At one point, I was three months behind and they worked with me, now when I’m barely late, they get pushy with me and threaten to take my vehicle. I will never do business with this bank again and I will never recommend them to anyone else due to their methods of coercion.
The people are very helpful with anything you need- I have been with them for years
I personally bank here and hardly ever have in issues and even when I do they are always willing to help!
